Paladin and Potion Making

I'm gonna try for a twofer this post.  That is, update my current positions in both Mabi and Vindi.

On Mabi, I just recently got bit by the "herb bug" and decided to try for Herbalism a bit to learn about Potion Making since everytime I switch back from a wand, the mana evaporates.  For those unaware, mana evaporation is as it sounds:  the mana just simply burns off once a wand is unequipped.  That is, if there's no upgrades to reduce it though.  As an elven mage, I'm more interested in mana potions so I can use Healing more often, at a cost of my own stamina of course, unless it's on another target.

For its prequel, Vindi, I finally decided to go Pally (Paladin) since Evies are usually weaker characters that can benefit from the extra defense.  The quest of the "Pact" series, Decisive Action, is gonna be one of The toughest choices a player's gotta make in the game.  Once chosen, there's no turning back.  That is, you've to make your choice before continuing on the Pact:  Paladin or Dark Knight.  Only one or the other, nothing more, less nor do overs.  It doesn't mess up the other quests though; you can still go about your story quests or whatever.

Anyways, that's about as much of an update I can put in for this twofer without borin ya'll with useless filler.  Apart from that, Good Fight, Good Night!

An Evie That's Almost Lvl 32 and...

...I'm beginning to feel the weight of how I should continue soloing as her.  Next up is the my now former guild, RP United, I'm usually about the only one on from there most of the time (which explains the "former" part and my decision to leave).  Then, there's this other guild by an RPS member that I'm currently on the waitlist.  Enough of the guild update for now and back to my Evie's position on the game thus far.

For the past few levels, I've been with this triple threat quest:  "Reinvestigation" where not one or two, but three dungeons are to be completed.  Not just that, but each at a specific level and 100bp (battle points) in each one.  So far, I'd managed to solo the first of three twice with the second time at an increased difficulty.  The others are not just another show, but gotta find a decent enough time where the other guildies are on.  Basically, until then, I just been doin a dollop of dailies.  Speaking of soloing, that's what I've done most of the game already.

Apart from this little bit of ramblin, I just wanted to put up a fresh post after a couple weeks break.  So, "good fight, good night!"

Vindictus

It may not be a direct reference to Mabinogi, but Vindictus is its prequel.  One major difference is when choosing a character, instead of classes/races, there are currently four types by name.  These are:  Evie, Fiona-female and Lann, Karok-male.  You read right, no way you can change the gender that I know of.  If so, then so.  Besides that, if you're a male wanting a spellcaster/mage type, ya'll stuck with Evie.  Same goes for females wanting a dual-wielder to be stuck with Lann.

I just happen to choose, of course, Evie.  As I said, she's the only one that's magic based.  Anyways, I don't look at it that way, but as if I'm playin an MMO version of Tomb Raider.  Thankfully about half of RP United (my guild in game) does know I'm male since that Spiritshade is thus in Mabi.  To back it up, I found some fellow RPSociety (guild in Mabinogi) guildmates that also play Vindi.  One small catch is that the guild's on the West Server which I'm not too worried of even though I live on the East Coast.

As for the character names, they're the same as any other game where you can still choose the name.  Once again, Soulrider, without the #'s of course, has already been taken.  Just to help RP United recognize my Evie, I went with Spiritshade again.

Evie, on the other hand, is quite obviously, in mine and others' opinion/all around, the best soloist.  Since I have her at lvl 29, five past the minimum to wield scythes, I'm beginning to just choose which would be the better weapon.  Staves on one hand, have the AOE's like Firebolt, Icebolt and Ice Spear while having a healing skill w/a 3 min. cooldown that makes it easier for me to solo.  Then you have scythes which have a vampiric strike called Life Drain and Spirit Bind which summons a wisp to take some heat off ya.  Right now, I'm kinda undecided since it's not like Fiesta where mages are restricted to a staff or wand past 100.  Basically, with the choice of an 8 sec CD for Firebolt on staves or dancin with scythes, it's whatever of the two are better for the job.

You read right, using a scythe is like a dance more than just mere swinging.  Just the right combo can put down a pyromaniac before he knows what hit 'im.  Yet, Firebolts can clear a crowd just as quick when timed right.  Even one player on this page of a Vindi wiki describes the character as a witch instead of just a mage or alchemist.

Once again, without any further filler, what I could do for explaining Vindictus may take up a volume (maybe not that much).  Still, that's all another show and Good Fight, Good Night!

An Intro and Fill-In

For those that are just joining in, I'm mostly an active gamer of a few MMO's around including: Wizard101, Fiesta (probably not that active anymore) and this one, Mabinogi (more likely be called Mabi).  Since my other two characters each have a chronicle of sorts, I've decided to go for this third, or second, spin-off.

Now, the story thus far.  Just like in Fiesta, I joined a guild here in Mabi as well: RPSociety.  It's mainly an adventuring one that focuses on RP, or roleplay for those unaware, based on the bio you gave your character on their forum.  Anyways, I've chose this guild since it could be a nice enough sized one where there'll be enough members on to either request help or assist them.

As for the game's story goes, I'm already through with Generations 5 and 13 (once more, likely to be referred as Gx, where "x" being the number).  They're like chapters of a storyline and some, like 5 and 13, can be simultaneously worked on while others, like G1-3 and 9-12, must be done in order.  Others such as 1-3 aren't available to elves and giants where they start at 5 and 6 respectively.  Five being "The Elf (Falcon)" and 6 as "The Giant (Savage Beast)".  That is, Elves can't do G6 nor Giants with G5.  So, long story short as an elf, my story starts at G5, skips 6, then to 7 on.

So far, I've gone further into G9 and rarin to continue.  Compared to Fiesta, it has a better storyline and none of that "leveling up just to buy a specific upgrade to a skill".  Skills are another show entirely where you'll have to earn them through either simply talking a select few NPC's with the "Skills" keyword or they'll give you a quest.

So, without any further filler, "Just as soon's I belong, then it's time I Disappear!"
